Boxing Results: Emanuel Navarrete KO’s Oscar Valdez!

In the main mvent rematch, WBO World Interim Super Featherweather champion Oscar Valdez was knocked out by defending against former WBO World Super Featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete in the sixth round on Saturday night in their rematch at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

In the co-feature, WBO World Featherweight champion Rafael ‘El Divino’ Espinoza stopped former WBO 126-lb champion Robeisy Ramirez (14-3, KOs) in the sixth round.

Valdez, 32-3 (24), was stopped by Navarrete, 39-2-1 (32) at 2:46 of the sixth round of a scheduled 12.

In the first round final seconds, Navarrete landed a right on the side of the head of Valdez, dropping him for an 8-count from Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. In the second round, Navarrete used his longer-reach landing punches with Valdez on defense.

In the fourth round final seconds, Navarrete landed a right uppercut on the chin, dropping Valdez for an 8-count from Ref Caiz, Jr. In the fifth round’s final seconds, Navarrate turned southpaw, landing a left to the chin and knocking out the mouthpiece of Valdez, who had landed a right at the same time.

In the sixth round’s final thirty seconds, Navarette landed half a dozen punches while Valdez returned only several when a left to the body (liver) from Navarrete dropped Valdez as Ref Caiz, Jr. waved it off.

In the Co-Feature rematch, WBO featherweight champion Rafael ‘El Divino’ Espinoza, 26-0 (22), stopped Robeisy Ramirez, 14-3 (9), and Las Vegas, NV, at 0:12 seconds of the sixth round.

In the first four rounds, it was close, with Ramirez having a slight edge. In the fifth round, it was all Espinoza backing Ramirez up the entire round, though an Espinoza elbow caused damage to Ramirez’s right eye. In the sixth round, Espinoza landed a right to the right eye, causing Ramirez to raise his hands and walk away, causing Referee Chris Flores to call a halt. Later, Ramirez claimed to have double vision.

WBO Super Light champion Lindolfo Delgado, 22-0 (16), stopped Jackson ‘El Fenix’ Martinez, 22-4 (10), in the fifth round of a 10.

In the first rounds, it was all Delgado. In the fifth round, Delgado had Martinez in trouble, causing Referee Wes Melton to call a halt.

2021 Olympic Silver Medalist and current Jr Heavy champ southpaw Richard Torrez, Jr., 12-0 (11) stopped Isaac ‘Drago’ Munoz, 18-1-1 (15) at 0:59 of the third round of an 8.

In the third round Torrez had Munoz busted up and defenseless when Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. called a halt.

Super Featherweight Albert ‘Chop Chop’ Gonzalez, 12-0 (7), defeated Gerardo Antonio Perez, 12-7-1 over eight rounds of action.

In the first four rounds of action, Gonzalez outworked Perez in all solid rounds. In the fifth through eighth rounds, Perez made a fight of it but fell short of the impressive Gonzalez.

Referee Tony Zaino Scores 80-72 twice, 79-73.

Super FlyweightSteven ‘Kid Dinamite’ Navarro, 5-0 (4) stopped Gabriel ‘Gabby’ Bernardi, 7-2 (3) at 0:29 seconds of round two of a 6.

In the second round, Navarro landed a combination that dropped Bernardi for an 8-count from Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. Seconds later, a right cross from the southpaw dropped him for a second time. A combination dropped Bernardi for a third time, with Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. waving it off.

Welterweight southpaw Giovani ‘Gallo de Oro’ Santillan, 32-1 (17 defeated  Fredrick ‘General’ O’Kun a Lawson, 30-5 (22) over ten rounds.

In the first round, Santillan dominated Lawson. In between rounds, Lawson’s corner called a halt.

Welterweight Art Berrera, Jr., 7-0 (5) stopped Juan Carlos Campos Medina, 4-2 (3) at 2:58 of the second of a 6.

In the second round, Berrera had Medina defenseless, causing Referee Wes Melton to call a halt.

Super Featherweight DJ ‘The War Machine’ Zamora, 14-0 (9), defeated Roman Ruben Reynosa, 22-5-2 (10)  over 6 rounds.

Lightweight Cesar Morales, 0-1 (0) lost a majority decision to Kevin Mosquera, 3-0 (1), over 4 rounds
