Taylor Swift’s most important fashion critic? Her fans, of course.

When the “Karma” singer dropped by the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City on Thursday, December 12, surprising patients, staffers and their families, she appeared just as gracious as they were after a young fan complimented her clothes.

“Thank you for saying my outfit [is] tea. You made my day,” she politely told one fan named Naya, who for her part, wore a “What Goes Around…Comes Around” pink T-shirt and a friendship bracelet stack.

After snapping photos together and gifting Naya with a signed copy of her commemorative Eras Tour book, the Grammy winner left her with what is perhaps the ultimate Swiftie Christmas present: a TikTok cameo to her song “Bad Blood,” which Swift filmed right there in the hospital.

Taylor Swift bonded with sick kids at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City over the Chiefs, and of course, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. “I like Travis now,” a child told Swift, 35, during the Thursday, December 12, stop at the hospital, according to a fan video shared via X. Swift didn’t skip a beat […]

“Boy, ain’t no way I [just] woke up and tripped out with Taylor Swift,” the fan captioned the video. In the clip, Swift, 34, ripped open the curtain in the patient’s hospital room before breaking into her iconic strut from the Eras Tour, a move that can be traced to the hit anthem’s music video.

Swift’s look was a far cry from the sparkly pink beaded Roberto Cavalli bralette and skirt that she wore on stage during her record-shattering tour, which wrapped December 8 in Vancouver.

Instead, she continued her plaid streak in a Miu Miu tartan button-down shirt and pleated skirt paired with black opaque tights and her signature Christian Louboutin knee-high boots sans sequins. To complete the look, she swiped on her favorite Pat McGrath matte red lipstick.

While the ensemble was tame by Eras Tour standards, it was, as the fan put it, very “tea” — and very T. Swift. Plaids are a fixture of her Chiefs game day outfits, which have included a Versace skirt suit and Vivienne Westwood frock for recent match-ups. When she debuted her loud luxury era in a Louis Vuitton watch and Gucci loafers, Swift bundled up in a plaid coat by Carolina Herrera.

Swift will enter a new era when she celebrates her 35th birthday on Friday, December 13. Only time will tell what the next year will bring sartorially speaking, but it’s clear she wanted to kick things off by spreading joy and serving up some festival holiday style inspiration along the way.
