Taylor Swift’s Management Shares Sweet Fan Tribute as Eras Tour Ends
The Eras Tour may be over, but Taylor Swift’s management team is reminding fans to “hold on to the memories.”
“To all the fans who took part in experiencing the joy that #TSTheErasTour has brought us over the past two years,” the pop star’s management shared via the Taylor Nation X account late Sunday, December 8, after Swift performed her final show on the two-year tour in Vancouver. “We saw you spend hours designing your costumes, trading friendship bracelets, singing and dancing nonstop to the entire setlist, spreading love to everyone, and welcoming each city into our shared traditions.”
“While the tour has come to an end, your smiles, tears, and friendships will last a lifetime. Remember to hold on to the memories — they will hold on to you. 🫶,” the tribute concluded.
Swift ended her record-breaking Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, at BC Place in Vancouver on Sunday, bringing to an end a tour spanning 149 shows, five continents and numerous surprise songs.
Closing out the show, Swift, 34, thanked fans for “being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my life to date — my beloved Eras Tour,” per footage shared via social media.
During Sunday’s show, the pop star performed a mash-up of “Long Live,” “New Year’s Day” and “The Manuscript” as her final surprise song on the tour. While singing “Long Live,” she changed the lyrics, “It was the end of a decade,” to, “It was the end of an era / But the start of an age.”
The “Fortnight” singer also gave one last shout-out to her boyfriend Travis Kelce, with whom she famously got together while on tour. During the last song, “Karma,” she sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs,” referring to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
As well as generating billions of dollars, Swift’s Eras Tour brought her together with Kelce, 35, who attended one of Swift’s concerts at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July 2023 and later said he was upset he didn’t get to meet the singer.
“Well, I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said on a July 2023 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.” He added that he had hoped to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.
The stars connected later that summer and were official by September 2023 when Swift attended her first Chiefs game.
In December 2023, Swift opened up to TIME about the genesis of her relationship with Kelce.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she continued. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
